Akbar

Akbar, was the third emperor of the Mughal Dynasty, who reigned in India from 1556 to 1605 AD. He was one of India's greatest rulers, and was also as "Mughal-e-Azam". He extended a sound administrative system, and laid the foundation of the great Mughal Dynasty, which ruled India for over 200 years. Nine years after he became emperor, Akbar built the Red Fort, beside the Yamuna River in Agra, it is where two generations later, and his grand son Shah Jehan built the famous Taj Mahal.

Akbar took keen interest in the field of art & culture. He explored various fields of art and patronized them. His grand father Babur was a descendant of Turkish conqueror Taimur on his father's side and of the Mughal conqueror Genghis Khan on his mother's side. Akbar blended the cultures of his ancestors with that of India and was the greatest contributor in creation of the unique Cuisine, which is now famous as the "Indian Mughal Cuisine".

The theme of Akbar's reflects the same Indian Mughal Cuisine, featuring Mughal and Avadh style dishes. The Mughlai Cuisine is renowned for its unique aroma, exceptional spices and opulent sauces. The Kebabs are prepared using various methods such as Charcoal Grills, Clay Oven Grill, and shallow fried in special copper utensils. In creating these dishes, specially the Kebabs of Lucknow, Akbar's uses only the finest quality products in order to ensure the authenticity.
